The fire was reported at 10:45 a.m. in the attic of the two-story, 2,900-square-foot home at 1550 Pinecrest Terrace, said Chris Chambers, Ashland Fire & Rescue forestry division chief. The first crew to arrive, at 10:50 a.m., called a second alarm because they saw flames on the roof, Chambers said. A couple and their two young children evacuated and were unharmed, he said. The fire was quickly knocked down, but damage to the attic and ceiling displaced the family at least for Monday night, Chambers said later in a release. The cause is still under investigation. The fire started on an outside wall in a second story patio and spread through the eave and into the attic, the release said. Three engines from Ashland Fire & Rescue and two from Jackson County Fire District No. 5 responded to the fire. — Sam Wheeler   DailyTidings.com Writer Posted Nov. 24, 2014 at 11:33 AM Updated Nov 24, 2014 at 4:40 PM » Comment or view comments   Reader Reaction »  STAY INFORMED   Email NewsLetter   Sign Up Today   Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox. calendar Connect with DailyTidings.com Facebook Twitter RSS Back to top Reader Services Reader Services home Subscriptions Subscriber controls Contact us Submissions Photos Events Letters to the editor Corrections Alerts Email alerts RSS feeds Text Alerts Advertise Media Kit Home Products and services Ad rates Advertising contacts Mail Tribune Daily Tidings The Nickel Shop Our Valley Blogs Stay Informed   Email newsletter   Sign Up Today   Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox.
