Oregon Lawmakers Commit to Protecting Athletics for Biological Females Politics & Elections By Lucille McNamara On Feb 14, 2025 Last updated Feb 14, 2025 FILE - Oregon State Capitol - October 2024 - Salem, Oregon | Photo by Seth Smigelski Many Oregon lawmakers are committed to ‘fairness in women’s athletics and protecting opportunities for female athletes.’ They made their stance clear in response to President Donald Trump’s ruling that participation in women’s sporting competitions is only for biological females. The lawmakers have urged the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) to align with the federal policy in a letter sent to its president, Peter Weber, calling for an immediate ruling that specifies high school sports participation is restricted to biological female athletes.
