Stone, who has signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Oregon, has excelled off the court as well, carrying a 3.55 GPA while accumulating over 300 hours of community service. She also is a member of several choirs and plays the flute and saxophone. “Lindsey is the consummate team player,” said Ashland High head coach Josh Rohlfing. “She embodies leadership, poise and greatness.” The Gatorade Player of the Year program recognizes one winner in each of the 5 states and the District of Columbia in football and baseball (boys), volleyball and softball (girls), as well as soccer, basketball and track and field (boys and girls). Each state winner, selected by a panel of sport-specific experts in conjunction with a national media advisory board, is chosen based on his or her outstanding accomplishments on and off the field of play.
