Former Southern Oregon Builders CEO Arrested in Medford After Detectives Say He Embezzled 100,000 From the Organization Crime & Courts By Lucille McNamara On Feb 27, 2026 MEDFORD, Ore. — The former CEO of the Builders Association of Southern Oregon (BASO) is facing multiple criminal charges after being accused of embezzling $100,000 from the organization. Bradley Bennington was arrested yesterday (Thursday) by detectives with the Medford Police Department. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail on five counts of first-degree aggravated theft, two counts of first-degree theft, three felony counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, and four misdemeanor counts related to the fraudulent use of a credit card. Tidings Context In Oregon, aggravated theft in the first degree applies when first degree theft involves 10,000 dollars or more in a single or aggregate transaction, and it is a Class B felony. The Theft Allegedly Took Place Over a Number of Years According to police, BASO contacted the Medford Police Department in October last year to report concerns that a large amount of money had been misappropriated by its former CEO. Authorities say the alleged theft occurred over several years. After reviewing the results of a forensic audit commissioned by the organization, detectives launched their own investigation. Tidings Insight A forensic audit tracks where money moved, and subpoenas let detectives confirm bank records before asking prosecutors to file charges. That process included issuing multiple subpoenas to financial institutions to examine bank records and transactions. Investigators ultimately determined that approximately $100,000 had been taken. Tidings Timeline Oct 2025: BASO reports suspected misappropriation to Medford Police. Late 2025: Organization commissions forensic audit. Early 2026: Detectives subpoena bank and transaction records.
