--> --> Downtown will light up during annual festival Ashland Daily Tidings Ashland's downtown will burst with brightness the day after Thanksgiving with the city's ninth annual Festival of Light. The festival will feature a parade through the downtown corridor ending at the Plaza at 5 p.m. followed by the Grand Illumination, when all the downtown holiday lights will go on at once. After the parade, Santa will be at the Black Swan Theater until 8 p.m. and than have a permanent workshop at the Plaza Information Booth Saturdays and Sundays in December. There will also be entertainment on the Plaza before and after the parade A series of lantern-making workshops will be held at Hillah Temple from 12 to 4 p.m. Nov. 18 and Nov. 23. The classes are $10 and include all material needed to make a lantern which can be carried in the parade or displayed at home. For information call 488-4373. The festival continues with a Candlelight Tour of Homes the first and second weekends of December. Tickets are $10 for one weekend or $15 for both and can be purchased at the Ashland Chamber of Commerce office, the Rogue Valley Mall and Inti Imports. Email your...
