Salem Police Arrest 17-Year-Old After Armed Robbery of 15-Year-Old Boy at Northeast Apartment Complex Crime & Courts By Lucille McNamara On Mar 10, 2026 SALEM, Ore. — A 17-year-old male suspect, who has an outstanding probation violation warrant through the Oregon Youth Authority, has been lodged at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center on charges related to an armed robbery at an apartment complex in northeast Salem. The incident occurred at 10.20 a.m. on Sunday at the 3700 block of 7 th Place NE where a 15-year-old Salem boy told police he was walking through the complex when he was approached by the suspect. He said his assailant acted as if he had a concealed weapon, pressing a hard object into his stomach while demanding his belongings. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle when it returned to the apartment complex later that day. The suspect and another male ran into an apartment, while the driver remained in the vehicle. Officers reported seeing the grip of a firearm near the seat where the suspect had been sitting.
