BUSINESS SOU grad manages new bank branch in Ashland Comment By Local report DailyTidings.com By Local report Posted Jul. 14, 2015 at 6:56 PM By Local report Posted Jul. 14, 2015 at 6:56 PM » Social News Southern Oregon University graduate Candace Selden is manager of Washington Federal's first branch in Ashland, which opened April 13 at 175 Lithia Way. This is the company’s first branch to use a new “co-locating” concept where the bank shares the same lobby space as the Pony Espresso coffee shop. Pony Espresso is a family owned and operated establishment that’s operated its Jacksonville location since 1995. The Washington Federal branch is highly automated, with two in-lobby and one exterior “smart” ATM that can take deposits of cash and checks. The design is intended to add after-hour convenience to the clients’ banking experience. The location also includes a community meeting space with a large conference table that can be reserved by the public for meetings. Selden, a 19-year resident of Jackson County, resides in Talent with her husband of 20 years and 10-year-old triplets. "It's an honor to introduce this new style of banking to Ashland," she said. "It seems like the perfect fit. Washington Federal has been offering banking services in the Pacific Northwest for nearly 100 years. It’s great to see how innovative, future-focused thinking is helping us to create a new banking experience for our clients.” Ashland’s Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on April 21. Washington Federal President & CEO Roy Whitehead was onsite to deliver a welcome message and express the company's pleasure to be invested in the Ashland community with this state-of-the-art branch. Washington Federal, with headquarters in Seattle, Wash., operates 250 offices in eight western states. The company offers residential real estate loans, commercial real estate financing, consumer deposit accounts and business banking.     By Local report DailyTidings.com By Local report Posted Jul. 14, 2015 at 6:56 PM » Comment or view comments Reader Reaction » STAY INFORMED Email NewsLetter Sign Up Today Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox.
