Jenny Bath — I’m going to drive a vehicle that runs on vegetable oil (to reduce global warming). I’m going to be present in my mind and speak my own experience all the time. I’m going to remember how I’m connected to people and the world instead of making up stories about how I’m separate. I’m going to swim in the ocean more and have more fires to sit beside. I’m going to sleep under the stars. I’m going to run more with my dog, climb rocks and sing. Elizabeth Hart — I’m going to take lots of walks in my woods with my dog. I’m going to take my dog more places. I’m going to feel whatever I need to feel, regardless. I’m going to do more compost instead of landfill. I’m going to fearlessly bring my art into the world.  Carilyn Caldwell — I’m going work on eating more healthily. I’ve donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. I’m in high school and I know that we (in high school) can impact the world more and in better ways. If I see trash, I’m going to pick it up. I know that if everyone did things like this it will be a better world. Autumn Caldwell — I’m a senior in high school and I’m getting all organized to graduate and get ready for college. I’m going to read more books. I’m kind of an introvert so I’m going to be more social and open to other people. I just went to Turkey and Russia and I’m going to do more travel and open up to all that.  Alysha Graham Picard — I want to expand my inner practice of meditation and yoga and move to a place where I feel incredibly supported in my spaciousness. I want to spend part of every day in nature taking walks and learning more about local birds and trees. I want to infuse nature into my art. I want to spend winter focusing on painting and getting ready to share my art with Ashland and the greater world. Mark Pescetti — I was walking the other day in alleys downtown and tried to reach out to (homeless person) and he turned away. I’m interested in people’s stories. I want to help create awareness of people’s situations and hardships instead of just looking away because there’s always a story there. I stay away from resolutions like losing weight or making more money. I want to create situations of meeting more people and seeing what’s going on in the world. Felipe Romero — My wife and I are welcoming our new first child into the world in 2015 and we want to make sure we use the resources of this valley and community. We’re extremely fortunate and grateful for all that’s available and we plant to use it all to refocus our attitude and learn to be more selfless and more empathetic of the needs of others. — Reach Ashland freelance writer John Darling at [email protected].
