By Sandi Mollo Pendleton My son, Michael Mollo, hobbled away from Ashland Community Hospital July 24 after brief treatment of a severely infected foot. That was the last confirmed report of anyone seeing him. His sister, Jennifer Wilson, and I spent the last few weeks in Ashland and surrounding towns talking with people, putting up fliers and attempting to locate him. During that time we were introduced to many loving and caring people by his partner, Abby Lewis. I want to make sure they know how blessed they are. There was a prayer circle in Lithia Park that touched my heart and brought me to tears. I was amazed by the comfort offered to me by executives and homeless alike. All are concerned about Michael's well-being. As of this writing, he is still missing. I continue to receive calls from concerned citizens who think they may have seen him. Since Jennifer and I are back in Pendleton, our friends and relatives in Medford, Klamath Falls and Keno follow up on any lead that comes in. I also commend the Ashland Police Department for listening to my fears regarding my son every single day and for going out there and talking with people and following tips. They have known Michael for about 12 years and realize he is a gentle soul who is confused at the moment. Their purpose isn't to harm him or lock him away. They want to assist in getting him the medical treatment that is so vital to his health. I also want to thank Abby, who so patiently helped me through my melt-downs, while she is grieving herself. She is an amazing woman whose strength and genuine sweetness shines through during adverse situations. Special love to you. Again, thanks to all who continue to help.
