SATURDAY February 28, 2004 - Subscribe - Contact Us - Rate Card Valley&State Backpage O&E Sports Archives Classifieds Faith&Beliefs Obituaries Revels February 3, 2004 YMCA burglar suspect arrested in apartment A male transient was arrested on suspicion of being involved in a burglary where three computers were taken at the Ashland YMCA. Michael Lydon, 37, was arrested by police on Monday morning after they received a report of a man sleeping in a recently vacated apartment on Clay Street, said Sgt. Bob Smith. At the apartment, police discovered one of the stolen computers. He was lodged into the Jackson County Jail in Medford at 11:30 a.m. Shortly after 5 a.m. Monday, police received a report of a burglary at the YMCA, located on YMCA Way, off of Ashland Street. Smith said it appears that in the early hours of Monday morning, a window was broken to gain access into the YMCA and several items were taekn, including three Dell flat screen computers. Also taken was a video recorder and a DVD player. Later that morning, police recovered two of the computers and the video camera hidden in some brush next to the YMCA, police officials said. Smith said police are still investigating if Lydon acted alone, or had accomplices. He was arrested on suspicion of theft, burglary and being in possession of stolen property and was taken to the Jackson County Jail in lieu of $14,000 bail. Public Safety 1:45 p.m. Monday - A juvenile female was arrested at the Market of Choice on Siskiyou Boulevard for taking $6.46 worth of food items. 1:30 p.m. Monday - Report of an unknown subject who apparently kicked a wooden sign in front of a business on the 700 block of Terra Avenue, causing $500 damage. 11:45 a.m. - Report of a vehicle stolen from Main Street in Talent.
