Billed as a "community celebration of giving and receiving," it's an opportunity to reduce consumption of new items by sharing items that have been previously purchased, and sometimes never even used. Participants are asked to bring three to five items that someone might like to receive as a gift. They get a color-coded name tag, and then set their gifts on a table. When the opening announcement is given, they'll have a turn to select other items to give to friends and family. Tea will be served. Attendees may bring "tasty finger treats" to share, organizers say, if they like. The giving and getting is set to run from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at 208 Oak St., at the corner of B Street.
