Friday, June 3 First Friday Art Walk: Galleries, studios and other art venues will stay open until 8 p.m. as they host artist receptions and present new exhibitions on the first Friday of each month in Ashland. The free event features artwork, live music, artist demonstrations and refreshments. The Schneider Museum of Art on the Southern Oregon University will also take part in the art walk. Orgone is an eight-piece band that plays funk and soul, Jelly Bread plays "desert twang" with four-part harmonies, and multi-instrumentalist AfroQBen plays samples and futuristic synths. Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased online at liveatthearmory.com or Music Coop, 268 E. Main St. Tickets will be $25 the day of the show. Doors open at 7 p.m. The show is open to ages 21 and older. Tavi Jinariu: Jefferson Classical Guitar Society will present "The Segovia Guitar" at 8 p.m. Friday, June 3, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 717 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. Classical guitarist Tavi Jinariu will perform some of the guitar repertoire made famous by maestro Andres Segovia. Jinariu hails from Romania, where he began playing guitar at age 5. In 1999, he received a full scholarship to study with Christopher Parkening, who was Segovia's famous American student. Jinariu is currently professor of guitar studies at The Master's College in Santa Clarita, Calif. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased online at tav.brownpapertickets.com , Music Coop, 268 E.
