--> --> Klamath Water fight on display KLAMATH FALLS - The fight for water in the Klamath Basin is now the subject of an exhibition at the Klamath County Museum. Participants in the struggle over control of the canal headgates and water for the Klamath Reclamation Project have dedicated a set of wooden steps to the museum. Protesters used the steps to go over the fence protecting the headgates. "The steps I built belong to the people and to the world," said Stan Thompson, one of the leaders in the summer's protest. A large American flag hangs behind the steps, which are topped with a bucket and several feet of chains in a temporary display near the museum's front lobby. Also included in the display are one of the padlocks that was cut off the headgates, a bucket, chains and a shovel. The display will be moved to a permanent site inside the museum at the end of November. A copy of the Declaration of Independence, an overhead banner and one of the Bureau of Land Management jugs will be added to the display soon. Email your...
