It is totally possible and below I will provide a roadmap for achieving it. If we examine the violence gripping the world, it is obvious that it is predominantly men who perpetrate the wars, rapes, homicides and domestic violence occurring throughout the world. To end global violence, we need to view the issue as a male problem. When we men have the courage to own the issue, the solution will soon follow. Violence will diminish as the old male paradigm (dominator) is replaced by the new paradigm (partnership) model because this paradigm will address the root causes of male violence. Men were originally trained to suppress their inner nurturer (feminine quality) in order to be able to hunt and protect their clan. Now, modern media glorifies violence and promotes hyper-masculine values with great effectiveness. However, with the awesome power of modern weaponry, men must now re-socialize and adopt the path of nonviolence or destroy the planet. Futurist Gregg Bradden says, "We have taken the old male paradigm about as far as we can without destroying ourselves." Scientist Carl Sagen calls us "technological adolescents" and highlights the need to "catch up" and mature into humans who can resolve conflicts peacefully and ensure the future of our species. So the challenge is for large masses of men to spread this message while simultaneously working to integrate this new paradigm in themselves. The violence can be fixed! It is already happening on an unprecedented scale. Thankfully, large numbers of men across the globe are changing and redefining masculinity. I've personally seen too many men make these significant changes to believe that it can't be done on a massive scale. Many great teachers have come amongst us to demonstrate what is possible and these countless saints have taught us that men can embody the (feminine) qualities of kindness, compassion and equality. Men such as Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Mandela, inspired by the spiritual teachings of Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed and others, showed the world the power of nonviolence to correct social ills. Once we reach critical mass, like the hundredth monkey phenomena, we will soon start to see grassroots shift to new male values and belief systems; in short a sustainable masculinity, part of the new paradigm! And we won't be alone! The design intelligence, (whatever name we call it) that created the universe is currently activating in millions of us, the powerful desire to evolve our species so that the next phase of cosmic evolution will continue. In 15 billion years we've come from a singularity to a planet, to a planet with atmosphere, from simple bacteria, to insects and animals, to a species with consciousness and an ability to co-create with God (Nature). Our current phase of technological adolescence hardly seems the end place for nature's grand design. Scientists are currently exploring the "genius code" in our DNA which they believe will help us catch up to our technology and enable the next phase to begin. It is clear that the universal movement for global nonviolence must occur quickly and the first initiative must come from men. Men must provide the safety and stability while we repair the environment and provide the education, economies and governance of the new paradigm. Let's accelerate the grassroots movement of men that is gaining momentum as we speak. There is a lot of work and learning to be done but I'm excited because it is entirely possible.
