Williams went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs and also struck out five, while Gianni Pippa-Baker went 2-for-3 with three RBIs as Ashland improved to 2-0 in the Midwestern League and 6-2 overall. Men's Basketball A few weeks after completing a successful run to the Elite Eight, the Southern Oregon University men's basketball team learned that it has received the James Naismith-Emile Liston Team Sportsmanship Award for the 2015 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Championships. The Raiders went 26-10 overall, setting a school record for wins and tying a program record for best finish. They landed at No. 9 in the final NAIA rankings. "Receiving the team sportsmanship award was just further validation about the kinds of kids we have in our program and how we are representing SOU," Raider coach Brian McDermott said. "The guys played hard and acted like gentlemen during the entire tourney. I could not be more proud of them." The Raiders finished with six on the Academic All-Cascade Conference team, four Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes and two Capital One Academic All-Americans.
