OSF opening box office to ticketbuyers Oregon Shakespeare Festival's box office will open to the public Monday morning, officials announced. The box office opens at 9:30 a.m. At that time patrons may call (541) 482-4331 or visit the box office, located at 15 South Pioneer Street in downtown Ashland. Ticketbuyers may also log on to www.osfashland .org and check on ticket availability for all performances. The box office has been processing member and group orders since Nov. 7, according to OSF Executive Director Paul Nicholson. Members and groups have purchased more than 230,000 tickets to date, he said. "We are pleased to be on target this season with our ticket sales," Nicholson said in a statement Friday. "Once again this reflects the commitment of our membership, and we also have a very exciting season opening soon, with three world premieres, one world premiere translation and a playbill of popular classics." Previews begin Feb. 21 with William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" in the Angus Bowmer Theatre, and opening weekend is Feb. 28-March 2. Opening at the top of the season with Romeo and Juliet are No�l Coward's "Present Laughter" in the Angus Bowmer Theatre and David Edgar's world premiere two-play cycle, "Continental Divide," comprised of "Daughters of the Revolution" and "Mothers Against," playing in the Angus Bowmer Theatre and New Theatre, respectively. "Continental Divide" is a co-production with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and the productions will continue at Berkeley Rep in November 2003. The 11-production OSF season will run through Nov. 2, 2003. Other plays this season include the world premiere translation of Henrik Ibsen's "Hedda Gabler" by OSF Artistic Director Emeritus Jerry Turner, August Wilson's "The Piano Lesson," both playing in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. Nilo Cruz's "Lorca in a Green Dress" will have its world premier in the New Theatre. Shakespeare's "Antony and Cleopatra" also will be staged in the New Theatre. John O'Keeffe's "Wild Oats, and Shakespeare's "Richard II" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" appear on the Elizabethan Stage. Box office hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Fridays, and 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Orders may be faxed to (541) 482-8045.
