Photo illustration courtesy of ScienceWorks Thursday Aug 25, 2016 at 8:08 PM Aug 25, 2016 at 8:08 PM Local report ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum in Ashland is joining the world-wide Pokémon Go craze with “PokéScience,” a scientific Pokémon scavenger hunt, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3.  The day will feature activities and experiments that are related to Pokémon character types to help people better understand the science of the game. Visitors will receive a "Pokédex" showing the Pokémon represented at the event and can collect character stamps after completing the different activities. There will be demonstrations throughout the day, including a fire demonstration, the Van de Graaff generator, and liquid nitrogen.  ScienceWorks has been designated a "Pokémon Gym," so players also have a chance to capture Pokémon and battle with other players for virtual control of the museum.  PokéScience activities are free with museum admission ($8 for children ages 2 to 12 and seniors 65 and older, and $10 for teens and adults).
