Alan Panebaker | For the Tidings Bridal shop opens on Bridge St. By Alan Panebaker Tidings Correspondent When Tiffany Katz got married last year, she and her mother decided one wedding wasn’t enough. “We had so much fun with the wedding that we thought this would be a fun business to get into,” said Lori Vieu, Tiffany’s mother and co-owner of Ashland Bridal Shop. So this August, mother and daughter got together to open a business for brides. Because Ashland has been without a bridal shop for years, the two thought the city would be ripe for a new one. With the quaint little shop on Bridge Street, the two are trying to get their feet on the ground. As October is the beginning of the slow season for bridal shops, Vieu said it gives them the opportunity to go to conventions and shop for next year’s inventory. Cyndy Graves, a seamstress who does the alterations for the new bridal shop, said the lull in the fall is never enough to cause a shop to close. The owner of Wedding Wishes in Medford for more than a decade, Graves said she sees a bright future for the Ashland Bridal Shop. She said it should not be too difficult for the entrepreneurs to make it through the rainy season. “It’s always a slow time, but it’s not that you couldn’t maintain,” Graves said of her shop during the fall. “We never had to close the doors.” As the days get shorter and the temperatures drop, this mother-daughter team will rely on high school girls looking for prom dresses, women who like to dress elegantly to go out at night and brides who like to plan nine months ahead. And Cyndy Graves thinks they will do just fine because of their personable style. “It’s a very personal shop,” Graves said. “It’s not a hurry-up-and-get-out type of place.” DailyTidings.com Home Page Archives | Revels | Classifieds | Real Estate Guide | Weather | Subscribe | Contact Us Copyright 2005 Ashland Daily Tidings and Ottaway Newspapers All Rights Reserved Deep Muscle Stimulator Free Music Downloads Slippers Ceramic Piggy Banks Online Casinos FREE Entertainment Guide Women's & Men's Slippers Accelerate Weightloss Products best online casino teleconferencing High-End Gaming Computers Diamonds Vegas Travel Guide Search Engine Optimization Sportsbook Discounted Website Hostings Student Loans Hotel & Airline Reservations African Safari Myspace Layouts Helzberg Diamonds Online Casinos Community Student Loans Bonus Casino ink cartridges Mortgage Calculator Security Systems Mailing Lists Generic Viagra Casino Gambling Sites Backpacks Click Here .:Advertisements:.
