Williams, a life long Unitarian Universalist, is a cum laude graduate of Brown University in Providence, R.I. with a B.A. in classics, and also an educator who has taught English, Latin, religion, math and mythology at the elementary and secondary school levels. Williams has been admitted to the Starr King School's Master of Divinity Program in Berkeley, California, but is seeking involvement in the workings of a UU congregation before beginning his graduate studies. His wife, Amois Gonzalez, grew up in Jacksonville. Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship offers religious education classes for children age pre-kindergarten to 18 beginning Sunday, Sept. 12, at 87 Fourth Street. The Program will connect students with the church's liberal religious heritage, including Christian and Jewish roots, Eastern religious traditions, and insights of philosophy and science. The church's purpose in studying comparative religions this year is to understand and respect similarities and differences, interdependence, and discover the values religions hold in common. Nursery care is provided for crawlers and toddlers up to age 3. Classes are held for primary, ages 3 to 6, elementary, ages 6 to 11, junior youth, ages 12 to 14, and senior youth, ages 14 to 18. To enroll, Williams at 292-2345, or our RVUUF office at 482-4755, or bring your children to the fellowship on opening day, Sunday Sept. 12 at 10:15 a.m. There is no charge for participation in religious education classes.
