. Reference is made to your previous request forinvestigative assistance by the Federal Bureau of Investiga-tion in determining the whereabouts of John Wayne Gacy during 
1967, with regard to his possible involvement in an investiga-
tion initiated in 1967 by the Hannibal, Missouri PoliceDepartment, the Cook County, Illinois Sheriff&#39;s Department» ;and States Attorney&#39;s Office. Through contact with the Des ,Plaines, Illinois Police Department it was determined that I,1 previous investigation conducted by that department indicated {that Gacy had assisted his father-in-law in the operation of I>several Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurants in the Waterloo, 1
Iowa area during 1966 and 1967, at which time Gacys mother
IT6SidGd in Little Rock, Arkansas. Information was alsoTprovided that Gacy was believed to have been previously .,affiliated with the Jaycees in Springfield, Illinois andiwaterloo, Iowa, although no information had been developed by 1.1

was married in Springfield, Illinois in 1964 and, following.&#39; fhis move to Waterloo, Iowa in 1966, he was involved in some&#39;type of trouble in Waterloo, Iowa in 1967, which carried over
