stated that in February of 1979, he traveled-to Atlant c 1 y, ew Jersey, to attend n ique car auctionsponsored by K1-use Auction Company. advised that he hadread about the auction during the firs par of February, 1979,
in a newspaper entitled "Old Cars Weekly, which is published -in Iola, Wisconsimgdvised that the particular issueof the newspaper tha e mentioned that the auction was
going to auction off a 1955 Chevrolet Corvette automobile, which
was owned by Elvis Presley.
9 advised that on February 17, 1979, he bid$34, 000 for this Chevrolet Corvette which onged I, Dto Elvis Presley, and his bid was accepted B
that the previous owner of the Corvette

Presley had owned it and during the restoration, a bill of
sale was discovered beneath the seat of the Corvette. This
bill of sale is the bill of sale that indicated Elvis
Presley had purchased the vehicle in New York City on
January 18, 1955-
Qadvised that he has the original invoice
for the car n so the original bill of sale, and both
of these documents indicate that the Corvette formerly -
belonged to Elvis Presley.

contacted the seller, name unrecalled, a New Jersey r i

PRESLEY and a window options sticker. Additionally, the seller
then invested $8,000.00 to $10,000.00 in all newprovided an out of state title in the seller&#39;s name.

from the man in New Jersey, was sold to him with the car and
he laminated the invoice himself.

The original of the enclosed invoice was examined
by the Document Section of the FBI Laboratory and it was noted
that there were several corrections made on the document andals9~it appeared as though there were areas in which the lines
and several letters had been retouched as is often the case
in the production of counterfeit documents. Ihe typewriter
used to prepare the document and the Correcto-type tape used
to make typewriter corrections were both available commercially
in 1955. The FBI Laboratory wou riginal Don Allen
Chevrolet car invoice to ccmpar invoice to in order
to specifically state whether or no e ocument was a fraud.
