Crispin opened with a win atop Rapid Ray in the first race and followed up with victories on Red Cloud in race No. 5 and La Party Girl in race No. 6. Twyla Beckner scored two wins atop quarter horses, riding Dazzlin Dory to a victory in a Derby Trial in the fourth race and Eyes Okey in the seventh race.
