By JONEL ALECCIA Mail Tribune At age 7, the Medford girl is no stranger to trauma. For years, she witnessed physical fights in which her dad would attack her mom. When her mom finally found the courage to leave last year, the girl’s father began stalking them. They’ve moved three times in the past year to avoid him, said Karen Holt, director of Kids Health Connection, a school-based health-care program that’s providing counseling for the girl. Advertisement Now that the father has been jailed on domestic violence charges, the girl and her mother are trying to rebuild a more peaceful life. Together they’re learning to play, something that’s been missing from their daily routine for too long. The 7-year-old enjoys games, especially card games, but she and her mom don’t have any, Holt said. During this holiday season, a gift of cards or other simple family games they could play together would be more than welcome. Kids Health Connection provides care to children at Jackson, Washington and Oak Grove elementary schools in west Medford, and to Phoenix Elementary School in Phoenix.
