I have a new neighbor who has left the garbage bin and yard waste bin sitting in the street for two straight weeks now with no signs of any intention of wheeling them up to the house. — Millie I., Medford According to Joe Jimenez, Medford’s code enforcement officer, she’s gotta wheel ’em in. He said there’s nothing in the city code about trash bins specifically, but there is a rule prohibiting obstructions in the right of way, which means streets and sidewalks. He said he’s written violation notices for people when garbage day was Monday and the can’s still out there Wednesday. Jimenez said Medford residents can call 774-2016, leave the address and complaint on the voice message, and he’ll go out and tell the property owner to remove the cans.
