The forum will feature House candidate Sal Esquivel and council candidates John Statler and Michael Torguson. The forum will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Red Lion, 200 N. Riverside Ave., Medford. It also will be aired live on KCMX-Radio, 880 AM. The forum will be moderated by Kingsley Kelley, general manager of KTVL Channel 10, with a panel consisting of Mail Tribune Editor Bob Hunter, Radio Medford General Manager Ron Hren and KTVL reporter Matt Brennan. Questions will be taken from the panelists, as well as from attending audience members and radio listeners, who may call in at 772-8255 or 1-800-535-8157. The Applegate Valley Community Forum will hold a Candidates’ Night, featuring candidates for Jackson County Board of Commissioners and state offices, from 7 to 9 tonight at Ruch Elementary School. Candidates will introduce themselves and list the top three issues they would like to focus on if elected. That will be followed by a question and answer period. Information on the city ballot measures will be available. Phoenix candidates and others: The Phoenix Chamber of Commerce is planning a candidates forum from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Bear Lake Estates Community Room, 300 Luman Road, Phoenix. Robin Stroh of the League of Women Voters will be moderator. Invited to the forum are candidates for Phoenix mayor and council, county commissioner, justice of the peace, House District 5 and Senate District 3. Commissioner candidates: The League of Women Voters of the Rogue Valley and Ashland are co-sponsoring a Meet the Candidates program at noon Thursday at JJ North’s Grand Buffet, 1016 N. Riverside Ave., Medford. A no-host lunch for $7.25 begins at 11:30 a.m. The public is welcome. Jackson County commissioner candidates Sue Densmore and C.W. Smith will answer questions on land-use planning, energy, economy, transportation and water quality, charter revision and budget priorities.
