Traffic fatality reported in Ashland By Mail Tribune Staff Updated: Dec 31, 2022 02:23 PM A A The Ashland Police Department said an accident involving a pedestrian Friday night resulted in a fatality. APD posted on Facebook Saturday morning that Ashland Street between Tolman Creek Road and Clay Street was closed Friday evening while officers investigated the site of a traffic crash. Police reported Saturday morning there was one fatality, but the victim’s name will be withheld until next of kin can be notified. The Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team, county medical examiners and the Jackson County District Attorney’s office will be assisting Ashland police officers in the case, the post said. The Ashland Police Department could not immediately be reached for more details.
