ACCESS food drive needs your help Thursday Dec 21, 2017 at 9:32 AM Dec 21, 2017 at 9:32 AM The annual ACCESS Food for Hope food drive runs the risk of finding lumps of coal instead of sugarplums in its stocking this year, with both cash and food donations falling far short of goals. ACCESS hoped to bring in 30,000 pounds of food and $40,000 in cash, but is at about 20 percent of that in both cases. The drive, which ends Dec. 31, is the agency’s largest and supplies food pantries across Jackson County that help feed 26,000 people. Donors can drop off food at area fire stations, Sherm’s Thunderbird, Food 4 Less and other sites listed under the Food for Hope button on the ACCESS website, www.accesshelps.org. Cash donations are even more helpful, as the agency can purchase five pounds of food for every dollar donated. Donations can be sent to ACCESS Food for Hope, P.O. Box 4666, Medford, OR 97501 or donated through a secure online site at www.accesshelps.org.
