$150,000 worth of equipment stolen from Medford firms Thursday Aug 17, 2017 at 10:00 AM Aug 17, 2017 at 4:58 PM Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune @RyanPfeil Police are searching for two men who stole two vehicles and more than $100,000 worth of tools from separate Medford businesses earlier this week. The thefts happened early Wednesday morning, according to Medford police Lt. Justin Ivens. The first occurred at about 1:22 a.m. at Outlaw Powder Coating, in the 1300 block of Justice Road. Two men broke in and stole a 1999 Ford flatbed "dually" with a custom-painted hood, and used the truck to ram through a gate as they left. The truck was recovered Thursday morning near the Hoover Ponds off Highway 62, Ivens said, originally discovered by a resident who lives nearby. About two hours later, thieves broke into House Cat Service, in the 3400 block of Crater Lake Avenue. Surveillance video caught one of the burglars, a white male with dark hair, glasses and an obvious limp, walking on the property. Police believe the second thief is also a white male adult but did not have additional identifying features beyond the hooded rain parka he wore. The men stole a 2000 International semi-box truck at the second location, where more than $100,000 worth of tools used to move and set up manufactured houses were stored, Ivens said. They used the second stolen truck to ram through a gate, as well. The loss from both burglaries was estimated at about $150,000, Ivens said.
