Chief boys go to 3-0 GLIDE - Clutch free-throw shooting down the stretch proved to be the difference as the Rogue River boys held onto a 66-60 non-conference overtime win over Glide Monday night. The Chieftains (3-0) converted 8 of 10 free throws and outscored Glide 12-6 in the overtime session. For the game, Rogue River went 17 of 24 from the charity stripe. "We hit our free throws down the stretch and that pretty much won the game for us," said Chieftain coach Scott Anderson. Poor shooting by the Chieftains, who watched an 11-point lead evaporate in the second quarter. But Rogue River countered with tenacity on the offensive boards. "We only shot 33 percent, we couldn't hit anything," said Anderson. "But we got a couple of easy putbacks." The Chieftains had 11 offensive rebounds in the second half. Derrick Schoner scored 20 points for the Chiefs and made three 3-pointers. Jason Luchterhand added 12 points, nine boards and five steals. ROGUE RIVER (66) - Coma 5, Schoner 20, R.
