http://www.omniture.com --> Email Story to a Friend June 11, 2006 Teacher's run brings money to help Miles On Friday, Ruch teacher Scott Stemple attempted to run 100 Miles for a first-grader named Miles Johnson. Miles has a heart condition and faces open heart surgery this summer. Stemple started his run at Crater Lake and headed for Ruch school, joined in segments along the way by more than 50 students and by upper management from Lithia Motors, his biggest sponsor. On the day of his run, Stemple collected a fistful of checks he said could total over $2,000. The event ended with a celebration at Ruch school late Friday night. While his goal was 100 miles, extreme pain resulted in Stemple ending his run at 82 miles, but he finished doing the "final lap" to Ruch school.
