OSP seizes Oxycodone, gun in traffic stop Mar 21, 2011 12:00 AM A A Oregon State Police seized of more than 3,500 Oxycodone pills and a loaded .45-caliber handgun when a trooper stopped a man from Arkansas for speeding near Ashland. According to an OSP press release, at about 9:50 a.m. Friday an OSP trooper stopped a man driving a 2011 Buick Enclave with California plates near milepost 18 in the Ashland area for a speed violation. Upon further investigation, the trooper discovered about 3,500 Oxycodone pills and a loaded .45-caliber handgun hidden inside the vehicle. The estimated street value of the pain medication is $108,000, OSP reported. The driver, Charlie Anthony Franklin Jr., 32, of Texarkana, Ark., was arrested and charged with possession and distribution of synthetic drugs and carrying a concealed weapon. He was lodged in jail on $50,000 bail, but is no longer listed as an inmate.
