Harrison already was being held in the Jackson County Jail on warrants unrelated to Monday’s bomb threat when he was arrested Tuesday afternoon, Steele said. He was set to appear on the federal charge before U.S. Magistrate John Cooney in Medford this afternoon. Convicted, Harrison could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine, Steele said. Advertisement Harrison is accused of calling the airline shortly after its shuttle flight to Phoenix, Ariz., left Medford about 2:45 p.m. and suggesting the plane needed to be re-screened, authorities said. Investigators believe that Harrison was running late and hoped the bomb threat would delay the plane long enough for him to check in. The 50-passenger plane with 30 passengers aboard returned to the Medford airport. The plane underwent a thorough search, which turned up no explosives, Steele said. Officials held passengers for about two hours before they could start making new travel plans. Airline employees noticed Harrison still was trying to get onto the flight after it had been called back because of security concerns. Police detained him for questioning and the FBI named him as a suspect in the bomb threat. Medford police arrested Harrison on Monday on warrants charging him with failure to appear on a driving under the influence charge in Jackson County and with felony fraudulent use of a credit card in Klamath County.
