Rogue Valley International – Medford Airport Master Plan (2001) An Airport Master Plan was com pleted in February of 2001 for the Rogue Valle y International-Medford Airport. This Master Plan provides for anticipat ed aviation facility needs over the next twenty -year period (and beyond). The im provem ents identified in the Master Plan will allow the airport to m eet growing dem ands of com mercial passenger air service, ai r cargo, m ilitary , and general aviation needs. In addition to addressing aviation needs, the plan also identifies airport-owned properties that are not anticipated for aviation-related developm ent. These properties m ay be used for other purposes to enhance airport revenues. The plan generally recom mends th at proposed im provem ents be im plem ented as airport activity dem ands them . Recom mended im provem ents include: • Expanding the loop road in order to provide additional parking capacity • Construction of a grade-separated interchange between Biddle Road and the airport access road • Construction of an additional runway to handle projected airline activity Implem entation of these and other recom mendations re lated to developm ent of the airport are the responsibility of Jackson County using County , Federal Aviation Adm inistration (FAA), and other funding. Airport-related recom mendations are further addressed in Chapter 9 of the TSP. Other Transportation Studies In addition to the foregoing, there are num erous othe r studies and transportation -related docum ents which have been produced in the Rogue Valley area. Som e of these have been reviewed to extract specific inform ation that will be helpful in preparing the Medford TSP, but the docum ents have not been summarized in this m emorandum due to the limited applicability of the inform ation they contain. For exam ple, the existing TSPs for nearby jurisdictions including Central Point, P hoenix, and Talent have been reviewed to obtain inform ation such as functional classification and im provem ents so that consistency can be m aintained between these jurisd ictions and the City of Medford where relevant. Many other studies have still less utility in the preparation of the Medford TSP than the ones previously summarized. The first technical m emorandum produced for the Rogue Valley Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) in August 1993, provides an exhaustive revi ew of existing transportation plans and studies previously completed in the area. Table 2-3 belo w lists plans and studies by title and date that are reviewed in Technical Mem orandum #1 of the RTP. If additional inform ation from any of the studies listed below is required, the Technical Mem orandum #1 of the RTP should be consulted.
