The Eagles (7-2) now await the outcome of the North Medford/Grants Pass game tonight. Eagle Point’s season is over if North wins, due to a coin toss that would settle a possible tie. But the Eagles move on to a first-round state-playoff game if Grants Pass were to win. Butler, who had only one carry entering Thursday’s game, opened the scoring on an 11-yard TD scamper early in the first quarter and Nate Idrogo tacked on another score for a 14-0 lead less than four minutes in. Eagle Point went to the half with a 34-7 advantage following a 15-yard touchdown strike from quarterback Jered McClellan to Tyler Chase. McClellan, who accounted for three touchdowns, trampled 48 yards for a score just 17 seconds into the second half. Advertisement Butler would add scoring bursts of 68 and 87 yards. The Eagles limited the Pelicans to 21 yards rushing and 260 total.
