Guglielmino, Samuels lead charge at GPD By Mail Tribune staff Oct 08, 2019 09:54 PM A A Wife and husband jockeys Kassie Guglielmino and Jake Samuels each won four times on a 10-race card at Grants Pass Downs Monday. Guglielmino claimed the fifth, eighth, ninth and 10th races, and her husband took the second, fourth, sixth and seventh. After three weeks of the fall meet, leading jockey Guglielmino is ahead of Samuels in victories, 12 to 11. Top trainer Jorge Rosales won three times, brining his total to seven. Hold That Smile in the eighth and All Star Allie in the ninth became the first double winners of the meet. A crowd of 640 represented the largest this fall, and the total handle of $100,968 was a record for GPD. Racing resumes Sunday and Monday.
