Wilson's three HRs, nine RBIs lift Hidden Valley GRANTS PASS -- In one game, Hidden Valley's Ryan Wilson accounted for more home runs than most prep baseball players have in a career. The junior went 5-for-5 with three homers and nine RBIs in the second game of a doubleheader at the Sports Park, enabling the Mustangs to race past Illinois Valley, 10-6 and 16-6. Wilson potentially could have done more damage in the second game, only to have the 10-run rule halt one of the day's hottest bats in the area. Trailing 6-0 after one inning in the second game, Hidden Valley quickly turned the contest around as Wilson had a three-run homer in the second, a grand slam in the fourth and a two-run blast in the fifth to close out Illinois Valley. The junior also had a double and a single in the nightcap, improving his league batting average to .694 (25-for-36) in eight games. With the doubleheader sweep, Hidden Valley improved to 4-7 overall and 3-5 in Skyline Conference play. The Mustangs sent 11 batters to the plate in the opening game's first inning, scoring five runs on five hits, a walk and a hit batter. John Hoagland was 3-for-4 to pace Hidden Valley in the opener, with Andy Sakraida, Scott Hyde and Ryan Harget each adding two hits.
