These distinguished seniors have been asked to share their achievements and college and career plans. CENTRAL MEDFORD HIGH SCHOOL Will Cramer Parents: Joe and Linda Cramer GPA: 3.81 Honors, awards: Varsity tennis, All Star Jazz Band, Rogue Valley Symphony Band, and formed a jazz combo. College plans: I plan to attend Rogue Community College. Although I have not decided on a major, I am interested in pursuing music. Career plans: I hope to discover that in college. NORTH MEDFORD HIGH SCHOOL Brittany Brockbank Parents: Jim and Lori Brockbank GPA: 4.0 Honors, awards: National Torch Honor Society; NMHS’s wind ensemble section leader and first alto saxophone, two years; Honors Diploma; and valedictorian (second in class). College plans: Northwest Christian University, studying music and missions. Career plans: Somewhat undecided. I plan on either going into the mission field or becoming a musician. As of right now, my major is undeclared, but I am hoping the classes I take next year will help me decide what major I should pursue. Career plans: I either would like to become an accountant because of my experience as a student teller and because I enjoy the business aspect of the profession, or I would like to become a high school counselor because I was a peer mentor during my junior year and realized I have a passion for helping kids figure out their future. Career plans: After completing Azusa’s nursing program, I hope to get involved with an organization, such as Nurses Without Borders, so that I am able to work in Spanish-speaking developing countries. College plans: I plan to attend the University of Oregon, where I will be majoring in communication and a corresponding media pathway in the School of Journalism and minoring in business so I can pursue a career of running my own photography company. Career plans: My dream is to explore the cultures of the world and capture all of its diverse beauty with my camera. I also would love to have a career in advertising, journalism or broadcast media. Overall, I want to use whatever career I pursue to help others in the community and to shine the Lord’s light wherever I am. Elora J. I am considering creating my own major, focusing on comparative education with a minor in music. Career plans: I don’t have any exact career plans yet, but I know that I want to be an educational advocate. With a solid foundation in the arts and humanities, I’d like to be involved in promoting holistic educational public policy in the United States. Kiana Kahusi Parents: Tom Kahusi and Karen Kahusi GPA: 4.0 Honors, awards: Slam Poetry winner, Associated Student Body vice president, Rotary Club Student of the Year, Homecoming Queen, National Honor Society, and part of the District Improvement Plan. College plans: I plan to attend Portland Community College and then Southern Oregon University and purse a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Career plans: To become a volleyball coach and psychologist. Willow Smith Parents: Ray and Jodi Smith GPA: 4.0 Honors, awards: National Honor Society, SMHS Sparrow Club coordinator, Kiwanis Club Student of the Month, member of SMHS Leadership, Link leader, and SMHS cross country team captain. College plans: I plan to attend Oregon State University this fall and study biology and, later, attend medical school. I am very excited and scared to start the next chapter in my life, but I will try my hardest to be successful. Career plans: I want to become a pediatrician. I do not know where I am going to live, but a few years into the steady job I hope to receive, I want to travel to Africa to help the sick people there. I want to do this a few times while I am still working and also raise a family. Overall, combining all of my career and family plans that I have when I get older will be stressful, but it sounds like a perfect life for me. Career plans: I hope to work for a nonprofit organization, preferably focused on environmental issues. I am currently unsure in what capacity I want to serve the organization, but am leaning towards environmental law and policy. However, I’m not sure whether I will put my skills to use in the field of research or commerce. As I get closer to completing my degree, and any other degrees I take an interest in, then I will make my final career decision.
