Medford police arrested Zavada Tuesday on an additional felony warrant charging him with possessing heroin. Medford police originally arrested him Tuesday on misdemeanor harassment charges, and on warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of attempted theft, third-degree theft, fourth-degree assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday on $25,000 bail. Drugs — Brandon David Chipps, 36, of the 500 block of Southwest Foundry Street, Grants Pass. Medford police arrested Chipps Tuesdayon a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, and on misdemeanor charges of second-degree trespassing, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree disorderly conduct. He remained lodged in jail Wednesday on $17,500 bail. Drugs — Joshua Steven Ware, 34, no known address. Medford police arrested Ware Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, and on a sanction for violating his probation on a previous meth-possession charge. He remained lodged in jail Wednesday without bail. Murder — Susan Marie King, 55, of the 2800 block of Oakridge Avenue, Central Point. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested King Wednesday on a felony charge of murder. Jackson County Circuit Court later arrested King on an additional felony charge of attempting to elude police in a vehicle and an additional misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. She was lodged in jail Wednesday without bail. Drugs — Joseph Anthony Borgeois, 40, no known address. Medford police arrested Borgeois Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, and on a warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous charge of possessing meth. He was lodged in jail Wednesday on $15,000 bail. Drugs — Valerie Valine Vargas, 33, of the 700 block of Cedar Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Vargas Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, an out-of-county warrant for failing to appear in court on previous charges of distributing and possessing meth and tampering with evidence, and on sanctions for violating her probation on previous counts of possessing meth and attempting to elude police in a vehicle. She was lodged in jail Wednesday without bail. Drugs — John Ransom McCartney, 56, no known address. Medford police arrested McCartney Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, and on warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of possessing heroin and methamphetamine. He was lodged in jail Wednesday on $30,000 bail. Drugs — Jose Carmen Espinoza, 42, no known address. Medford police arrested Espinoza Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing heroin and on a warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous charge of possessing methamphetamine. He was lodged in jail Wednesday on $17,500 bail. Drugs — Wendy Marie Lazaro, 28, no known address Oregon State police troopers arrested Lazaro Wednesday on a felony warrant charging her with possessing MDMA and on a misdemeanor charge of providing false information to police. She was lodged in jail on $17,500 bail. Crime reports Theft — 300 block of East McAndrews Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a vehicle theft at 8:04 a.m. Wednesday, in which tools and a ladder were reported stolen. The loss of the vehicle's contents were valued at $2,000. Theft — 300 block of North Berkeley Way, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 1:26 pm. Wednesday. Items reported stolen included two semiautomatic weapons, a white gold cross necklace with small diamond, and white gold and yellow gold "X" shaped earrings with a small diamond. The loss was valued at $1,500.
