Keser leads Crater to SOC victory RIVER FORKS PARK Sophomore Sam Keser set the pace early, then held off a late charge by Eagle Points Kierra Bernales to lead Crater to victory in a four-way Southern Oregon Conference cross country meet Thursday afternoon. Kezer negotiated the 5,000-meter course, at the confluence of the north and south forks of the Umpqua River, in 21 minutes, 51 seconds. "It had a lot of turns and grass, so the times werent as fast," said Crater coach Lynn Carrigan. "Sam had to go out and set the pace herself today." Bernales was second in 21:56. Crater easily outdistanced second-place Roseburg, 18-50, while North Medford was third with 54. Craters J.J. Moses was the only non-Roseburg runner in the top six as the Indians easily won the boys competition. Chris Roberts led the way with a 16:52 effort.
