(Read that again and let it soak in — that’s a whopper!) Well, what do you do with all that green? We asked: "What advice on spending do you have for the Medford family that won the Powerball jackpot?" I think that the West's should use THEIR money any way they desire. I hope they remember that they owe NOBODY any of their winnings. Not the one you can now afford, but the one you wanted "before", with just a few extras. Then try to "give away" $1,000 and every day. Not to those who write to you begging for money, but to the unsuspecting, yet hard- working people you meet every day. Elliott, Medford I'd recommend they look at setting up a trust to protect the money from taxes. There are some really great trusts that can be set up that will shield the money from taxes so it would last for many generations. — Steve, Medford I would tell them to use about 40 percent for fun, toys, travel, etc. Give 10 percent to charity, and 10 percent to support the military families left behind when their military member is killed in the line of duty.
