Women�s Health Forum set Free screenings for bone density, cholesterol, arthritis and other women�s health concerns, as well as presentations by nationally known authors, highlight the first Women�s Health Forum this weekend. The free forum will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Rogue Valley Medical Center�s Smullin Center, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford. It features more than 15 national and local speakers, including Dianne Moran, author of "Wellness For A Lifetime," Brian Gross, author of "Heart Disease, Today�s Options," and Linda Willas, author of "Balanced Way; Weight Loss and Exercise." Five hundred of Moran�s books and 1,000 personal planners will be given away. The forum will include films and presentations on stroke prevention, osteoporosis, colon cancer, breast cancer, heart disease, nutrition and arthritis. All the information presented will be "brand new and totally relevant," says Joy Olson, director of development for sponsor Southern Oregon Public Television. "We�re offering the latest and greatest news on women�s health all in one spot." Starting off the forum at 9 a.m. will be a presentation on the Star Trials by Maya Hawkins. She will explain how to find and participate in trials and protocols that offer the latest possible treatments for cancer and other diseases. Free health screenings for cholesterol and glucose, vision and glaucoma, bone density, dental, hearing and arthritis will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m. There also will be an Internet station provided by Internet CDS in which women can learn how to explore the Web for answers to health concerns.
