State ASA fastpitch tourney starts today The 17-team state A 18-and-under ASA fastpitch softball tournament begins today at Fagone and Jackson Fields and Crater High. The three-day softball event is a qualifier for the regional tournament in two weeks at Centralia, Wash. The top six teams from the state tournament will most likely advance to the regional. The Black Tornado is the only local entry. Among the tournament favorites are the Silver Bullets and Oregon Reign from Beaverton, the Thunder from Eugene, Oregon Reign from Springfield, Xtreme from Canby and the Northwest Steelers from Washington County. Games today are a 4, 6 and 8 p.m. at Fagone and Jackson fields and 4 and 6 p.m. at Crater.
