The body of Rick Michael Forbes, 64, was located at TA Travel Center, 19483 Knighton Road, after he had not checked in with his company or family, the Shasta County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies were dispatched on Friday about 1 p.m. to the truck stop, where Forbes was found dead inside of his Haney Truck Line semi. The sheriff's office indicated that his death is a homicide but is not revealing why or the circumstances surrounding how he died. Authorities are also not disclosing information about Forbes' travel route. Investigation revealed that Forbes arrived at the truck stop on Thursday after 11 p.m. No suspect has been identified, and authorities are seeking information from the public. People can call the Shasta County Sheriff's Office at 530-245-6540 or the Major Crimes Unit at 530-245-6135. Tips can also be emailed to [email protected].
