Mail Tribune 100, Dec. 17, 1921 By Alissa Corman Dec 17, 2021 12:00 AM A A The following news items were drawn from the archives of the Mail Tribune 100 years ago Dec. 17, 1921 YULETIDE CHEER AT COUNTY FARM A special meeting of the Christian Worker’s Band was called recently for the purpose of arranging for a program and tree at the county farm next Thursday night. A small fund raised at a recent box social, augmented by gifts from the young peoples’ societies, will be used to furnish decorations and the usual candy and nuts. The program will be largely drawn from the children’s exercises to be given by the various churches in order to afford the old people the unwonted atmosphere of childhood at the Christmas session. Carols will be sung also. NEW GAS ERUPTION TRIGONIA WELL Work at the Trigonia well has progressed favorably this week. There have been daily eruptions of gas, the one Thursday being of greater force than any preceding — and drove material up over 300 feet in the casing. This is now being cleaned out and it is expected will be completed today. The showing of oil is by far greater than a week ago. It has been estimated that the bailing are fully one-fifth oil. Work will be carried on tomorrow — Sunday.
