KU boys to play for state title REDMOND - Zach Tucker's volley of a Luis Garcia assist 13 minutes in was all the Klamath Union boys soccer team would get - and all it needed. With a 1-0 victory over Redmond in the Class 4A state semifinals Tuesday, the Southern Oregon Conference-champion Pelicans advanced to the state final for the first time in school history. KU (15-0-2 overall) faces two-time defending champion Jesuit (18-0) on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Wilsonville High School. The Crusaders, ranked No. 7 in USA Today's national poll, defeated Lakeridge, 1-0, in Tuesday's other semifinal match. The Pelicans have won 14 straight matches since a 2-2 tie at Corvallis on Sept. 13. They outshot Redmond (15-2 and Intermountain Conference co-champs), 15-13. KU and Jesuit met in the semifinals last year, and the Crusaders prevailed, 4-1.
