She loved her childhood in Montana and particularly summers spent in Fernie, British Columbia with her grandparents. June graduated from Great Falls High in 1944. Her lifetime interest in school and learning was demonstrated by college attendance at Montana, Oregon State, Oregon, Utah, Cal Santa Cruz, and eventual graduation first in her class in political science from Southern Oregon in 1987. That was one of her proudest achievements. In Portland in 1947 she married William (Bill) Duhaime, who survives. They had four chldren; daughter Sally Schott (David) Medford; son James Duhaime (Christi), Eugene; daughter Mary Duhaime (Donald Williams), who preceded her in death in 2006; and son John Joseph who died in infancy. Survivors also include grandchildren Tara Duhaime Thurston, Hope Duhaime, Haley Jones, Harrison Jones, and great-granddaughter Gabriella June Schwartz. June and Bill lived in Medford, where he practiced law from 1953 to 1993, before returning to Eugene in 2001. June was primarily a wife, mother, and homemaker was well as an outstanding cook and baker. She loved her house in Medford, was fastidious in grooming and dress, an accomplished painter, and reader of tea leaves. She worked at various jobs before and during marriage, including secretary, dental office administrator, bookkeeper, elections department clerk, substitute mail carrier, and substance abuse counselor. Though none were glamorous, she loved them all. June was a lifelong Episcopalian, member of Alpha Phi sorority, the Junior Service League of Medford, Friend of Bill W. and an ACBL Lifemaster. She was noted for her strong loyalty to friends and causes. She enjoyed riding her special bike Friday, locally and on tours in several states, Europe, and a number of Caribbean islands. She loved swimming, ice cream, her red Toyota Celica, crossword puzzles, and summers, Her favorite memories included numerous visits to Hawaii and sea ceuises from Tahiti and across the South Atlantic.
