North, Ashland split at swim meet The Ashland and North Medford swim teams split a dual meet Wednesday at the Medford YMCA. The Black Tornado girls posted an 87-82 victory, while the Grizzly boys prevailed by an 86-74 count. Sarah Arant, Jamie Erickson and Erin Kulmac were the North Medford girls' standouts. Each recorded two individual victories to go with their parts in two relay wins. The Ashland boys were paced by Brad Scoles, who churned his way to two individual wins and helped the Grizzlies to a pair of relay victories. Girls TEAM RESULTS - North Medford 87, Ashland 82. Tuesday's Late Games MYRTLE POINT - Phoenix fell behind 20-11 by the end of the first quarter and Myrtle Point cruised to a 63-50 boys basketball home win on Tuesday night. Junior post Brady Rhodes led the Pirates (3-4 overall) with 19 points and six rebounds. Phoenix made eight 3-pointers but knocked down just 10 other field goals. The Bobcats (4-3) outrebounded the Pirates, 27-17, and were paced by 15 points from guard Zach Young, who sank 10-of-10 free throws.
