Joan was born on October 10, 1952 in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Joe and Mary Ellen Bair. She grew up on a potato farm with eight siblings and graduated high school from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Klamath Falls. Joan began her college career at Oregon State University until she was stolen away by a handsome University of Oregon Duck named Rick. She transferred to U of O and completed her business degree. She and Rick Molatore were married August 24, 1973. Rick and Joan moved to Medford, Oregon and welcomed their first child, Luke, November 6, 1977. A short while later Joan was surprised and excited to learn she was expecting twins. On June 30, 1979, Tonya and Tyler were born. Joan committed the next years of her life to her children, staying home to raise three little ones. After her children went to school, Joan worked alongside Rick at his CPA firm for many years, working tirelessly through 25 tax seasons. She played a significant part in making his business successful. Family was important to Joan. She went out of her way to spend time with her grandchildren and pour into their lives, making them part of her weekly routine. Joan liked to be active and enjoyed hobbies such as biking, rafting, hiking, and riding quads. At home she loved to play the piano, crochet, and care for all of the trees and flowers she planted. She loved the outdoors but also loved snuggling up and reading countless books. Joan loved graciously and gave generously to everyone she knew. She always had something good to say about people. She made rosaries for people, volunteered at the church, led a depression self-help group for many years, and volunteered for hospice. She loved to give gifts and found something for someone just about everywhere she went. Joan is survived by her husband, Rick Molatore; her children Luke and (Tabitha) Molatore, (Josh) and Tonya Alger, and Tyler and (Destiny) Molatore; her grandchildren, Brooke Alger, Wade Molatore, and Malaya Molatore; her father, Joe Bair; and her siblings John Bair, Ed Bair, Joey Bair, Tony Bair, Lori Baley, Lani Hickey, Frances Andersen, and Paul Bair. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen Bair. Although pancreatic cancer took her life, she won the ultimate prize, to rest in the presence of Jesus forever. A mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford, Oregon. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Home Care & Hospice, Medford, Oregon.
