Friday, Jan. 27 Rogue Valley Symphony: Pianist Alon Goldstein will join the symphony, conducted by Martin Majkut, to perform Bela Bartok's Piano Concerto No. 3. The orchestra also will perform the U.S. premiere of Marian Lejava’s "Candide" overture and Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World.” Concerts are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, in the Music Recital Hall, 405 S. Mountain Ave., on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, in the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Cost is a sliding scale $5 to $10, though no one will be turned away, and proceeds will benefit Community Peace Meals, a group of volunteers who provide home-cooked meals for the homeless in Ashland.
