Event focuses on ‘Era of Megafires’ By Staff report May 17, 2018 07:34 AM A A A multimedia presentation on severe wildfires will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at the Smullin Health Education Center, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford. The 70-minute event will be hosted by Dr. Paul Hessburg, a researcher of fire and landscape ecology with 27 years of experience, according to a news release. There will be “fast-moving, short, topic-based talks interspersed with compelling video vignettes, and features the work of wildfire photographer John Marshall.” The event is free and open to the public, but attendees are asked to register online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-era-of-megafires-presentation-medford-tickets-45746498007. The doors open at 6:15 p.m. for a light reception. An event on severe wildfires is coming to the Smullin Health Education Center.
